Method for Determining Acceleration Abstract An accelerometer has two proof masses each constrained from movement by a beam resonant force transducer. The proof mass-force transducer systems are mounted with the sensitive axes of the proof masses aligned and the force transducers arranged so that their resonant frequencies f1 and f2 vary oppositely with the change in acceleration. The acceleration is determined in accordance with the relation a = A1f1-A2f2+A0 or a = A1f12-A2f22+A0 where a is the acceleration and A1, A2 and A0 are calibration coefficients.
