A method for evaluating a hydrocarbon so as to determine a desired parameter of the hydrocarbon includes the steps of providing a hydrocarbon to be evaluated, obtaining a near-infrared signal from the hydrocarbon, codifying the near-infrared signal so as to reduce the signal to a number of points, providing a neural network trained for correlating the number of points to the desired parameter and processing the number of points with the neural network so as to determine the desired parameter.

Méthode pour analyser un hydrocarbure de manière à en déterminer un paramètre voulu, comportant les étapes suivantes : fournir un hydrocarbure à analyser, obtenir un signal infrarouge proche dudit hydrocarbure, codifier le signal infrarouge proche de manière à réduire le signal à un certain nombre de points; définir un réseau neuronal adapté pour établir une corrélation avec le nombre de points du paramètre voulu, et traiter le nombre de points au moyen du réseau neuronal afin de déterminer le paramètre voulu.
