The present invention relates to a method for determining pharmaceutically active substances with the aid of test series, in which the action of a large number of different substances on one or more biological targets is tested and a hit list of those substances which actually or apparently have shown a pharmaceutical action on at least one biological target is prepared, whereupon a selection is made from the hits for more detailed investigations of pharmaceutical activity and/or applicability. In order to provide a method of the type stated at the outset, by means of which the success rate can be significantly increased, the following features are proposed: a) Determination of the chemical structure of the substances in the hit list, b) splitting of the structure of the substances into individual components or fragments, c) classification of the substances into groups having in each case identical and/or virtually identical or similar fragments, d) evaluation of the pharmacological activity of the various groups, e) comparison of the pharmacological activity of the various groups and f) selection of substances from those groups which, on the basis of the evaluation and of the comparison according to steps d and e, have the highest activity.
La présente invention concerne un procédé qui permet de déterminer des substances pharmaceutiquement actives à l'aide d'une série de tests dans lesquels on vérifie l'action d'un grand nombre substances différentes sur une ou plusieurs cibles biologiques et on prépare une liste de résultats positifs reprenant les substances qui ont apparemment ou effectivement déployé une action pharmaceutique sur au moins une cible biologique, avant d'effectuer dans la liste de résultats positifs une sélection de substances qui seront soumises à des recherches plus approfondies concernant leur activité pharmaceutique et/ou leurs possibilités d'application. Afin d'obtenir un procédé du type précité, qui permet d'augmenter de manière significative le taux de succès, l'invention fait appel aux étapes suivantes : a) détermination de la structure chimique des substances figurant sur la liste des résultats positifs ; b) division de la structure des substances en composants ou fragments individuels ; c) classification des substances en groupes comportant dans chaque cas des fragments identiques et/ou virtuellement identiques ou similaires ; d) évaluation de l'activité pharmacologique des divers groupes ; e) comparaison de l'activité pharmacologique des différents groupes ; et f) sélection des substances appartenant aux groupes qui, sur la base de l'évaluation et de la comparaison des étapes d) et e), déploient l'activité la plus intense.
