Disclosed is a method for determining the redox status of a region of interest in an animal tissue. The method includes administering a nitroxyl contrast agent to the region of interest, obtaining a magnetic resonance image of the region of interest, determining the amount of reduced nitroxyl contrast agent in the region of interest, and thereby determining the redox status of the region of interest.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour déterminer l'état redox d'une région d'intérêt dans un tissu animal. Le procédé comprend en outre l'administration d'un agent de contraste nitroxyle dans la région d'intérêt et l'obtention d'une image de résonance magnétique de cette région, le calcul du volume d'agent de contraste nitroxyle réduit, et, partant, la détermination de l'état redox de la région d'intérêt.
