La présente invention a trait à un procédé permettant de déterminer l'emplacement d'un point d'impact sur une surface (1) pourvue de N capteurs acoustiques (2a, 2b, 2c), par la transmission d'un signal capté si(t) à une unité de traitement (4). Le procédé selon l'invention comprend les étapes consistant : a) à calculer P produits d'intercorrélation ; b) à calculer P transformées de Fourier inverses p'ij(u) ; c) à calculer, pour chaque surface k, Pk(u) = .SIGMA. p'ij(u-.tau.ijk) ; d) à trouver k0, une valeur caractéristique de Pk0(u) étant supérieure à une valeur seuil donnée.
