The invention relates to a method for determining the resistance status of fungi and yeasts in a body sample of a patient suspected of having an invasive infection, comprising the steps of isolating DNA from a body sample of the patient, identifying mutations in a gene of the fungus or yeast, and correlating the resistance status of the fungus or yeast to the mutations found, wherein the body sample is blood or a blood derivative or a sample of an organ, and is in particular serum. Suitably, the method is performed in closed-tube format. The method of the invention is particularly suitable when the fungus of which the resistance sta-tus is to be determined is Aspergillus fumigatus.
L'invention porte sur un procédé pour la détermination de l'état de résistance de champignons et de levures dans un prélèvement corporel d'un patient soupçonné d'avoir une infection invasive, comprenant les étapes consistant à isoler l'ADN à partir d'un prélèvement corporel du patient, identifier des mutations dans un gène du champignon ou de la levure et corréler l'état de résistance du champignon ou de la levure aux mutations trouvées, le prélèvement corporel étant du sang ou un dérivé du sang ou un échantillon d'un organe, et étant en particulier le sérum. De façon appropriée, le procédé est mis en uvre dans un format en tube clos. Le procédé de l'invention est particulièrement approprié lorsque le champignon dont on doit déterminer l'état de résistance est Aspergillus fumigatus.
