A method for drying a wetted molded product of a pasty, highly viscous composition comprises subjecting the molded product to a dehydration process while wholly or partially contacting the product with an open-cell foamed hydrophobic porous membrane. The result is a product of improved dimensional integrity, i.e. less deformation, which renders it of improved utility.
