The invention concerns a method for enhancing adherence of carbon fibers with respect to an organic matrix forming with said fibers a composite material, said composite material being obtained by contacting the fibers with a resin curable by chain polymerization, then by polymerizing the resin. Said method is characterized in that it includes grafting on the surface of the fibers prior to their being contacted with the resin, groups capable of acting as chain transfer agents during the polymerization of said resin. The invention is applicable to; aeronautics, aerospace, railway, marine and automotive industries, but also to weapon, sports and leisure articles manufacture.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé pour améliorer l'adhérence de fibres de carbone vis-à-vis d'une matrice organique formant avec ces fibres un matériau composite, ce matériau composite étant obtenu par mise en contact des fibres avec une résine durcissable par polymérisation en chaîne, puis polymérisation de la résine, lequel procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend le greffage sur la surface des fibres, avant qu'elles ne soient mises en contact avec la résine, de groupes aptes à servir d'agents de transfert de chaîne pendant la polymérisation de ladite résine. Domaines d'applications : industries aéronautique, aérospatiale, ferroviaire, navale et automobile, mais également industrie de l'armement, des articles de sports et de loisirs, etc.
