The invention relates to a method that uses a computer to establish a data sequence enabling the generation of a trip, wherein said method comprises the use of a first set of N data, each datum (POIi; 1 = i = N) identifying a point of interest that may form part of trips. Moreover, each datum (POIi,) from said first data set is assigned a first identifier (Lp; 1 = p = P; P = N) identifying a geographical location containing the point of interest idenfitied by the datum (POIi). The aforementioned data are structured in a database with the aid of the first identifier and, each time, between a first pair ((LrLj); 1 = r = P; 1 = j = P) of geographical locations the database indicates a distance (?drj) and a duration (?trj) for travelling from geographical location Lr to geographical location Lj.
