The invention concerns a method for estimating a signal-to-noise ratio, in particular digital, received by a radio communication receiver. Said method is characterised in that it consists in estimating separately the signal and the noise and in filtering (36, 44) separately the signal (E¿b?) and the noise (N¿0?) before carrying out the division (40) of the signal from the noise. The noise filtering is for example of the statistical type, whereas the signal filtering is of the low-pass filtering type.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'estimation du rapport signal à bruit d'un signal, notamment de type numérique, reçu par un récepteur de radiocommunications. Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'on estime séparément le signal et le bruit et en ce qu'on filtre (36, 44) séparément le signal (E b) et le bruit (N0) avant d'effectuer la division (40) du signal par le bruit. Le filtrage du bruit est par exemple de type statistique, alors que le filtrage du signal est du type passe-bas.
