By finding that a high Azur granule content and its activity are observed in the feces and urine of IC patients, a method of examining IC is established. Namely, a method of examining interstitial cystitis by using the dynamic state of Azur granules in the urine as a marker; a kit for method of examining interstitial cystitis to be used in the above examination method; use of Azur granules as a marker for examining interstitial cystitis or evaluating a drug effect; and a method of examining a therapeutic effect on patients with interstitial cystitis by using Azur granules as a marker.
