The present invention provides a method for extracting carotenoids from green plant materials using supercritical fluid extraction. A first and second supercritical fluid extraction is performed on the green plant composition at two different pressures to obtain two extracts. The first extract includes substantial amounts of B-carotene. The second extract may have a controlled concentration of B-carotene, and includes substantial amounts of lutein.
La présente invention concerne une méthode d'extraction de caroténoïdes de matières végétales vertes par un fluide supercritique. Cette méthode consiste à soumettre une composition à base de matières végétales vertes à une première et à une seconde extraction par fluide supercritique, à deux pressions différentes, pour obtenir deux extraits. Le premier extrait obtenu contient des doses élevées de bêta-carotène. Le second extrait obtenu peut contenir une concentration contrôlée de bêta-carotène, et contient des doses élevées de lutéine.
