The invention relates to a method for recovering nylon from a nylon-containing material by contacting the nylon-containing material with an alkanol- containing solvent at elevated temperature and at a pressure higher than the equilibrium pressure of the alkanol-containing solvent at the elevated temperature, thereby dissolving the nylon in the alkanol-containing solvent, removing the alkanol-containing solvent containing dissolved nylon from any undissolved solids, and decreasing the temperature of the alkanol-containing solvent containing dissolved nylon to precipitate the dissolved nylon.

L~invention a pour objet un procédé permettant de récupérer du nylon à partir de matériaux contenant du nylon par mise en contact dudit matériau contenant du nylon avec un solvant contenant de l~alkanol, à température élevée et à une pression supérieure à la pression d~équilibre du solvant contenant de l~alkanol, de façon à dissoudre le nylon dans le solvant contenant de l~alkanol, à ensuite extraire le solvant contenant de l~alkanol et le nylon dissous des solides résiduels non dissous, et finalement à baisser la température du solvant contenant de l~alkanol et le nylon dissous de manière à précipiter ce dernier.
