The invention relates to a method for filling a gas tank at a pressure P2 from at least one gas source at a pressure Pi, P1 being higher than V2, said container and said at least one gas source being connected by a duct allowing the passage of gas from one to the other, the filing being carried out at a flow rate which is, at the end of the filling, lower than the initial flow rate, wherein said method comprises several successive filling steps 1 to i, each of the steps being carried out with a filling flow rate D1 to Di for a time t1 to ti, i being an integer higher than or equal to 2, the flow rate of a step i-1 being higher than the flow rate of the step i, characterised in that the successive filling steps 1 to i are adapted for producing a controlled heating of the container that maximises the heat dispersal in said container without increasing the temperature inside the container beyond the maximum accepted temperature for the container, and in that the sum of ti is between 1 and 7 minutes, preferably between 1 min 30 sec and 5 minutes, and more preferably between 2 and 4 minutes.

Procédé de remplissage d'un conteneur de gaz sous pression P2 à partir d'au moins une source de gaz sous pression Pi, P1 étant supérieure à V2, ledit conteneur et ladite au moins une source de gaz étant reliés par un conduit permettant le passage du gaz de l'un à l'autre, le remplissage s' effectuant à un débit qui est, en fin de remplissage, inférieur au débit initial, le procédé comprenant plusieurs étapes successives de remplissage 1 à i, chacune des étapes étant conduite à l'aide d'un débit de remplissage D1 à Di pendant un temps tl à ti, i étant un nombre entier supérieur ou égal à 2, le débit d'une étape i-1 étant supérieur au débit de l'étape i, caractérisé en ce que les étapes successives de remplissage 1 à i sont dimensionnées pour produire un échauffement contrôlé du conteneur maximisant la dissipation de chaleur dans ledit conteneur sans pour autant augmenter la température à l'intérieur du conteneur au-delà de la température maximale toléré par le réservoir, et la somme des ti étant comprise entre 1 et 7 minutes, préférentiellement entre 1 min 30s et 5 minutes, plus préf érentiellement entre 2 et 4 minutes.
