For the exploitation of the resources such as lumbering, there are many locations to which temporary access is desired hut to which permanent roads would not be apropriate. In the past, temporary roads have been made of gravel or the like. However, such gravel roads are time consuming to build and maintain and are particularly costly especially in light of their temporary nature. Furthermore they may eventually damage the area upon which they are built. Still further the surface being formed is sometimes incapable of supposing the transport vehicles and the use of conventional road building materials and technique is impractical. The proposed method allows for the production of so-called snowroads through a set of relatively simple steps which can be relatively easily performed by conventional earth moving equipment without requiring special skills and through energy efficient processes. Also the proposed method provides road building capacities at a relatively low cost and with considerable time savings.
