METHOD FOR FORMING FINISHING LACE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of making finishing lace includes extruding a substantially flat plastic strip having upper and lower surfaces, and simultaneously embossing the upper surface while laminating a scrim into the lower surface while the strip is still deformable from the residual heat of extrusion. The method further includes adhering a dry adhesive to the scrim to form a laminate and forming the laminate into a generally U-shaped configuration comprising a pair of sides joined together at a vertex portion. A flexible reinforcing rod is introduced into the U-shaped configuration at the vertex, the dry adhesive is reactivated, and the sides are compressed together to form a generally keyhole- shaped lace having a cylindrical bead and a depending flange where the bead includes the flexible reinforcing rod surrounded by the scrim, and the scrim extends into the depending flange.
