ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention proposes a method for forming grooves in rolls which are suitable for working web-like materials, in which a laser source directs a laser beam and an aligned conduit directs a pressurized gas jet onto the roll surface, the roll material thereby being removed in a sharply defined area and a groove thereby being formed.
