A method for the shaping of wadding products and a device therefor is provided whereby at least a portion of a preshaped wadding product is introduced into a shaping tool and maintained under pressure, with that portion of the wadding product located in the tool being subjected to ultrasonic processing. The device comprises a guide holder adapted to receive the shank of a wadding product,and a shaping tool adapted for application to the tip of the wadding product. The shaping tool is designed as a sonotrode having a recess corresponding to the desired shape of the tip of the wadding product.
