Method for freezing a food product, characterized in that it at least consists in providing the food product (1) to be frozen in a container (5); providing plate-shaped cooling elements (6) in the container (5), such before or after providing the food product; deep freezing of the food product (1); and the removal of the plate-shaped cooling elements (6); whereby cooling elements (6) are applied which, during freezing, leave connections (7) in the container (5) between the different spaces (4) present between the cooling elements (6), in such a manner that after the removal of the cooling elements (6), a singles frozen whole is obtained.
