The invention relates to a method for granulating polymer melts in a granulation chamber in which a cutting device is accommodated at a pressure above ambient pressure. In a first step, the granulating chamber is flooded with a gas which is inert in relation to the polymer melt and has a pressure at which granulation is carried out. The polymer melt is then injected into the granulating chamber. The gas is finally expelled from the granulating chamber by a liquid once the polymer melt starts to flow through the cutting device, the melt being cut into pellets.
La présente invention concerne un procédé conçu pour effectuer la granulation de matières polymères fondues dans une chambre de granulation intégrant un dispositif de coupe, à une pression supérieure à la pression ambiante. La première étape de ce procédé consiste à remplir la chambre de granulation avec un gaz qui est inerte par rapport aux matières polymères fondues et qui présente la pression à laquelle la granulation est effectuée. Ensuite, les matières polymères fondues sont injectées dans la chambre de granulation, puis le gaz est chassé de la chambre de granulation par un liquide dès que les matières polymères fondues commencent à passer à travers le dispositif de coupe pour être coupées sous forme de granulés.
