The invention relates to a method for hydrolyzing optically active amides to carboxylic acids and optically active amines with retention of the center of chirality. The hydrolysis of the amides is carried out with an alkali or alkaline earth hydroxide in the presence of 5 - 30 wt.- %, based on the amide used, of a polyol or an amine alcohol.

L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet d'hydrolyser des amides optiquement actifs, de façon à obtenir des acides carboniques et des amines optiquement actifs tout en conservant le centre de chiralité. L'hydrolyse de l'amide avec un hydroxyde de métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux s'effectue en présence de 5 à 30 % en poids, par rapport à l'amide utilisé, d'un polyol ou d'un amino-alcool.
