The invention concerns the identification and localisation in the tissue of novel polypeptides expressed by the insulin-like 4 gene (INSL4), their amino acid and nucleic acid sequence, detection and diagnosis methods, methods for marking, selecting and detecting cells expressing said polypeptides or their corresponding nucleic sequence and methods for selecting compounds capable of modulating the activity of said polypeptides. The invention also concerns medicines for treating tumours, such as Kaposi's Sarcoma, for the vascularization of specific tissues, tissue differentiation and/or regeneration, modulating embryonary implantation and treating pathologies related to insulin-like activity such as diabetes and its complications.
La présente invention concerne l'identification et la localisation tissulaire de polypeptides exprimés par le gène insulin-like 4 (INSL4), leur séquence d'acides aminés et d'acide nucléique, des procédés de détection et de diagnostic, des méthodes de marquage, de sélection et de détection de cellules exprimant lesdits polypeptides ou leur séquence nucléique correspondante et des méthodes de sélection de composés capables de moduler l'activité desdits polypeptides. L'invention concerne également des médicaments destinés au traitement de tumeurs, telles que le Sarcome de Kaposi, à la vascularisation de tissus spécifiques, à la différentiation et/ou à la régénération de tissus, à moduler l'implantation embryonnaire et au traitement de pathologies liées à l'activité insulin-like, telles que le diabète et ses complications.
