A method for implanting cells into a host tissue is provided. The method comprises the steps of: creating an implant assembly for holding cells including wall means for forming a porous boundary between the host tissue and the implanted cells in the device, the pore size of the boundary being sufficient to isolate the implanted cells from the immune response; implanting the assembly without the cells into a host tissue; and accessing an interior of the assembly to add the cells thereto.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé d'implantation de cellules dans un tissu hôte. Le procédé consiste à créer un ensemble implant pour conserver les cellules comprenant des parois destinées à former une limite poreuse entre le tissu hôte et les cellules implantées dans le dispositif, la dimension des pores étant suffisante pour isoler d'une réponse immunitaire les cellules implantées; à implanter cet ensemble sans les cellules dans un tissu hôte; et à accéder à l'intérieur de l'ensemble implant afin d'y ajouter les cellules.
