ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided a method for improving the leaf dressing applied by spraying or aerosolizing, in the case of which CO2 gas is added to an aqueous solution enriched with nutrients, herbicides or pesticides or to the water used for the preparation of this solution up to such content which is lower or only slightly higher than the natural absorbing capacity of water for CO2 at ambient temperature. Any incrustations in the nozzle and water conveying systems is thus excluded, the nutrient salt take-up of the leaves is increased, CO2 is supplied to the stomata of the plants in dosed quantities, with losses in CO2 being extraordinarily slight and with the salinization and concentration of the soil being simultaneously counteracted. Spotting or pore clogging by precipitation or crystallization is avoided, with the germ inhibitory effect of the carbonic acid and the resistance of the plants against infestation being incre- sed. Owing to the fact that technical CO2, gained from exhaust gases of industrial plants and power plants, is employed, the method can be also economically applied in the general fertilization in agriculture.
