Carnitine is injected in-ovo in incubating eggs of poultry in order to improve the well-being of poultry and/or prevent or alleviate ascites. A small amount of carnitine injected in ovo shows an efficacy similar to conventional feeding techniques requiring larger amounts of carnitine.
