The invention relates to a method for increasing the resistance to one or more penetrating pathogen(s) in a monocotyledonous or dicotyledonous plant, or a part of a plant, e.g. in an organ, tissue, a cell or a part of a plant cell, e.g. in an organelle, characterized in that a DNA sequence which codes for an armadillo repeat ARM1 protein and mediates an increased pathogen resistance, preferably an increased fungal pathogen resistance, is introduced into the plant or plant cell and expressed therein; or in that an endogenous DNA sequence which codes for an armadillo repeat ARM1 protein and mediates an increased pathogen resistance, preferably an increased fungal pathogen resistance, is increased in the plant or plant cell compared with the initial or wild-type plant or part thereof, or in that the endogenous gene sequence or preferably the 5'-untranslated region (5'UTR) is modified by comparison with the initial sequence. The invention likewise relates to plants, parts of a plant, e.g. in an organ, tissue, a cell or a part of a plant cell, e.g. in an organelle, which are obtained by the above method, and to corresponding propagation material.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'augmenter la résistance à un ou plusieurs agents pathogènes pénétrants dans une plante monocotylédone ou dicotylédone, ou bien dans une partie d'une plante, par exemple un organe, un tissu, une cellule ou une partie d'une cellule végétale, par exemple un organite, caractérisé en ce qu'une séquence d'ADN qui code pour une protéine de répétition Armadillo ARM1 et qui confère une résistance aux pathogènes renforcée, de préférence une résistance aux pathogènes fongiques renforcée, est introduite dans la plante ou dans la cellule végétale et exprimée dans celle-ci; ou en ce qu'une séquence d'ADN endogène qui code pour une protéine de répétition Armadillo ARM1 et qui confère une résistance aux pathogènes renforcée, de préférence une résistance aux pathogènes fongiques renforcée, est renforcée dans la plante ou dans la cellule végétale par rapport à la plante ou partie de plante de départ ou de type sauvage; ou en ce que la séquence génique endogène ou de préférence la région 5' non traduite (5'UTR) est modifiée par rapport à la séquence de départ. L'invention concerne également des plantes, des parties d'une plante, par exemple un organe, un tissu, une cellule ou une partie d'une cellule végétale, par exemple un organite, qui sont obtenus par le procédé ci-dessus, ainsi que le matériel de multiplication correspondant.
