ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification discloses a method for increasing the cycle stability of a latent heat accumulator salt. When the salt becomes contaminated by a substance reacting with the anion of the heat accumulator medium, the acid corresponding to the anion is added to the latent heat accumulator medium, or when the contamination is by a substance reacting with the cation of the heat accumulator medium, the alkali corresponding to the cation is added. When Glauber's salt is used as latent heat accumulator medium, sulfuric acid is added in order to avoid the undesirable reactions of the heat accumulator medium with corrosion products as, for example, FeO(OH), Zn(OH)2 or CuO.
