Disclosed is a method for inhibiting cell-mediated (e.g., CTL-mediated) killing of a mammalian target cell by expressing in the target cell a poxvirus serpin proteinase inhibitor (SPI)-1. If desired, SPI-2 can be expressed in the cell in addition to SPI-1. Cells expressing these proteinase inhibitors are resistant to cell-mediated killing and apoptosis.
L'invention porte sur un procédé inhibant l'élimination à médiation cellulaire (par exemple, par des lymphocytes T cytotoxiques) d'une cellule-cible mamalienne par expression, dans la cellule-cible, d'une serpine protéinase inhibitrice (SPI)-1, tirée d'un poxvirus. Une SPI-2 peut être éventuellement exprimée dans la cellule en plus de SPI-1. Les cellules exprimant ces protéinases inhibitrices sont résistantes à l'élimination à médiation cellulaire et à l'apoptose.
