Corrosion may be inhibited in a separation unit by treating at least one surface of the separation unit with a corrosion inhibitor. The corrosion inhibitors are those having a general formula (I); wherein each R is the same or different; each R is selected from the group consisting of : a hydrogen moiety, an alkyl moiety; an aromatic moiety and moieties having both an unsaturation and an aromatic group; and the sum of the number of carbons in the two R groups is from about 6 to about 30.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'inhibition de la corrosion dans une unité de séparation consistant à traiter au moins une surface de l'unité de séparation avec un inhibiteur de corrosion. Les inhibiteurs de corrosion sont ceux répondant à la formule générale (I) ; dans laquelle formule chaque R est identique ou différent de l'autre et est sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant : un hydrogène, une entité alkyle, une entité aromatique et des entités ayant à la fois une insaturation et un groupe aromatique ; et la somme du nombre d'atomes de carbone dans les deux groupes R va d'environ 6 à environ 30.
