The present invention provides a method of printing a digital image on a textile including the steps of selecting 8 to 16 inks to form an ink set, calibrating the ink set to create an ink set profile, using the ink set profile to calculate hue and shade-based look-up tables directly correlating the inks with the color space coordinates of the pixels of the digital image. The present invention also is a system and a apparatus providing means for performing the calibration of the ink set and direct correlation of the color space coordinates. The printed fabric has a first plurality of dots having 8 to 16 differently colored inks per dot and a second plurality of dots having one color per dot. Significantly, the present invention produces printed textiles having a high detail, deep color, and broad shading, as well as combination of dyes heretofore considered incompatible.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'imprimer une image numérique sur un textile. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes consistant à sélectionner de 8 à 16 encres pour former un jeu d'encres, à calibrer le jeu d'encres pour créer un profil de jeu d'encres, et à utiliser ledit profil pour calculer des tables de conversion basées sur la teinte et le coloris, qui établissent une corrélation directe entre les encres et les coordonnées de l'espace colorimétrique des pixels formant l'image numérique. La présente invention a également trait à un système et à un appareil fournissant des moyens qui permettent de réaliser le calibrage du jeu d'encres ainsi que la corrélation directe des coordonnées de l'espace colorimétrique. Le tissu imprimé comporte une première pluralité de points, dont chacun contient 8 à 16 encres de couleurs différentes, et une seconde pluralité de points, dont chacun contient une seule encre. La présente invention permet notamment de produire des textiles imprimés avec un niveau de détail élevé, une couleur intense, et une large gamme de coloris, et de combiner des colorants qui étaient jusqu'à aujourd'hui considérés comme incompatibles.
