The method consists in burying a message (1) in an image before the transmission thereof by modifying the characteristic data of said image, co-tatooing (2) said image by periodically burying a binary P matrix therein in order to determine the origin of the initial image upon reception of the coordinates thereof and phasing the images received from said origin in order to make it possible to read (5) the buried message. The invention can be used in the transmission of fixed or video images.

Le procéde consiste à enfouir (1) dans les images avant leur transmission, un message par modification des données caractéristiques des images, et à effectuer un co-tatouage (2) par enfouissement périodique d'une matrice binaire P dans l'image pour déterminer à la réception les coordonnées de l'origine de l'image initiale et permettre le calage des images reçues relativement à cette origine afin de rendre possible la lecture (5) du message enfoui. Les application vont à la transmission d'images fixes ou vidéo.
