An apparatus, comprising: a user output device configured to display a first plurality of items from a list of items, each item having data portions in fields; a user input device configured to enable a user to select at least one character from a plurality of selectable characters and to associate the selected at least one character with a field; and processing circuitry configured to control the user output device to display a second plurality of items, the second plurality of items being selected from the list of items and ordered, wherein the selection and ordering is in dependence upon a comparison between the selected at least one character and the data portion that each item has in the associated field.
La présente invention concerne un appareil qui comprend : un dispositif de sortie utilisateur configuré pour afficher une première pluralité d'éléments dans une liste d'éléments, chacun ayant des parties de données dans des champs, un dispositif de saisie utilisateur configuré pour permettre à l'utilisateur de sélectionner au moins un caractère d'une pluralité de caractères sélectionnables et d'associer le caractère sélectionné à un champ, et des circuits de traitement configurés pour commander le dispositif de sortie utilisateur pour afficher une seconde pluralité d'éléments, sélectionnée à partir de la liste d'éléments et classée, la sélection et le classement dépendant d'une comparaison entre ledit caractère sélectionné et la partie de données que chaque élément possède dans le champ associé.
