Abstract of the Disclosure A method is disclosed for isolating low molecular weight polymers having a viscosity of 5 to 100,000 cps at 30°C in a hydrophobic organic solvent containing an inactivated catalyst. The method comprises mixing an acidic, alkaline or neutral aqueous medium, or a mixture of an aqueous medium and a water-soluble organic solvent, with the solution con- taining the low molecular weight polymer in the presence of an amphoteric, cationic or nonionic surfactant or a nonionic or cationic high molecular weight flocculating agent. By this means, the separation of the organic layer and the aqueous layer is significantly improved, so that the organic layer may be easily separated and the polymer removed therefrom.
