In a method for joining workpieces, in particular press fittings (24) to a pipe (23), the pressing device (1) is placed with its at least two pressing jaws (21, 22) in the open position against the joining point of the workpieces 23, 24), and the pressing jaws (21, 22) are then moved with respect to one another by means of a jaw drive (7, 50), while the workpieces (23, 24) deform plastically, into a terminal pressed position in which, at the latest, the application of power to the press jaws (21, 22) ends. According to the invention, the power of the jaw drive (7, 50) is controlled in such a way that, at least toward the completion of pressing, the pressing jaws (21, 22) have less kinetic energy than without a power controller. The invention further concerns a pressing unit (1) for carrying out said method.
Méthode permettant de joindre des pièces de travail, notamment des emmanchements à la presse (24), à un tuyau (23). Le dispositif de pressage (1), doté d'au moins deux pinces de pressage (21, 22), est placé en position ouverte contre le point de jonction des pièces (23, 24). Les pinces de pressage (21, 22) sont alors déplacées l'une par rapport à l'autre, tandis que les pièces (23, 24) subissent une déformation plastique, à l'aide d'un mécanisme d'actionnement (7, 50) jusqu'à ce que les pinces atteignent une position de pressage finale au terme de laquelle la force qui leur est transmise s'arrête. Le mécanisme d'actionnement des pinces (7, 50) de la présente invention est commandée de sorte que les pinces de pressage (21, 22), disposent, au moins vers la fin de l'opération de pressage, de moins d'énergie cinétique que si elles n'étaient pas reliées à un mécanisme de régulation de puissance. La présente invention fait également état d'une unité de pressage (1) permettant d'appliquer la méthode décrite ci-dessus.
