ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A combination of an exchange platform having a grasping member at at least one end wih loading equipment for loading and unloading the exchange platform onto and off a vehicle over the rear of the vehicle. The loading equipment includes an arm construction fitted onto the vehicle in such a manner as to be pivotable around a trans- verse horizontal axis between a pick-up position and a transport position. The arm construction comprises a first arm and an L-shaped second arm pivotably connected to both the first arm and an extension which is vertical in the pick- up position of the arm, the extension being provided with a hook or the like for engaging the grasping member. Each grasping member of the exchange platform is capable of receiving the hook. The L-shaped second arm is pivotable 180 degrees from a first substantially horizontal position placing the hook means at a position to grasp the exchange platform at a substantially ground level to a second substan- tially horizontal transport position. And a method of loading the exchange platform.
