Methods of pooling or localizing the allantoic fluid (16) present in avian shell eggs (10), so that the fluid may be sampled, assessed or injected, are described. The methods involve tilting the avian shell egg so that the major axis of the egg is from about 10 to 180 degrees from the vertically upright position, so that the allantois pools under the uppermost portion of the egg shell. The allantoic fluid may then be sampled, or a substance injected into the allantois, by a vertical needle (17) or probe traveling in a downward direction.

L'invention concerne des méthodes qui permettent de rassembler ou de localiser le fluide allantoïdien (16) présent dans les oeufs (10) d'oiseaux, de façon à pouvoir l'échantillonner, le contrôler ou y injecter une substance. Les méthodes consistent à incliner l'oeuf de façon que son axe principal forme un angle de 10 à 180 degrés avec la verticale et que l'allantoïde se rassemble sous la partie supérieure de la coquille. On peut alors échantillonner le fluide allantoïdien ou injecter une substance dans l'allantoïde au moyen d'une aiguille verticale (17) ou d'une sonde se déplaçant vers le bas.
