METHOD FOR MAINTAINING ACTIVITY OF ZEOLITE CATALYSTS Abstract: Zeolites used in catalytic conversion processes such as cracking, hydrocracking and dewaxing are activated by co-feeding water and/or a water precursor with the feedstock. Suitable water precursors include alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol. The method may be used to restore lost activity or maintain a given level of activity. Hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen sulfide precursors such as mercaptans may be used as a less preferred alternative to the water and water precursor.
