A method wherein wear inserts (16) made of highly wear-resistant material are arranged around the edge of a transportable mould (10) made of a material capable of withstanding temperatures of over 400 ~C, the mould (10) and the inserts (16) are preheated in a furnace, the mould (10) is quickly removed from the furnace together with the inserts (16) and placed on a rotating centrifugal casting machine, ductile cast iron (18) is cast therein, and the moulding is removed after cooling.
