The invention concerns a method for making a catalyst for hydrocyanation of an ethylenically unsaturated organic compound. More particularly it concerns a method for making a hydrocyanation catalyst comprising in particular nickel and a water-soluble phosphine. The method for making a catalyst for hydrocyanation of an organic compound consisting of an aqueous solution of at least a water-soluble phosphine and nickel, consists in: contacting an aqueous solution of a water-soluble phosphine and a nickel hydroxide; adding in the medium hydrogen cyanide or a compound generating hydrogen cyanide and in maintaining the medium under agitation until the nickel is dissolved; then in subjecting the medium to reduction to transform at least partly the dissolved nickel with an oxidation number of zero. The catalyst is useful in organic reactions catalysed by a two-phase system, such as hydrocyanation of unsaturated organic compounds.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un catalyseur d'hydrocyanation d'un composé organique à insaturation éthylénique. Elle concerne plus particulièrement un procédé de fabrication d'un catalyseur d'hydrocyanation comprenant notamment du nickel et une phosphine hydrosoluble. Ainsi, le procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur d'hydrocyanation d'un composé organique consistant en une solution aqueuse d'au moins une phosphine hydrosoluble et de nickel, consiste à mettre en contact une solution aqueuse d'une phosphine hydrosoluble et un hydroxyde de nickel, à ajouter dans le milieu du cyanure d'hydrogène ou un composé générateur de cyanure d'hydrogène, et à maintenir le milieu sous agitation jusqu'à dissolution du nickel, puis à soumettre le milieu à une réduction pour transformer au moins partiellement le nickel dissous à un état d'oxydation 0. Le catalyseur est utile dans les réactions organiques catalysées par un système biphasique, comme l'hydrocyanation des composés insaturés.
