A method is provided for making a molecularly smooth surface, preferably on an electrode of an assay chip. This is desirable because it allows molecules, preferably oligonucloetides, to attach to the electrode surface with greater reliability and packing density than was previously available. Such attachment of molecules to an electrode surface is of particular interest in the field of electrochemical genetic analysis.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication d'une surface lisse au niveau moléculaire, de préférence sur une électrode d'une puce d'essai. Ceci est souhaitable car des molécules, de préférence des oligonucléotides, ont ainsi la possibilité de se fixer à la surface de l'électrode de manière beaucoup plus fiable et avec une densité de tassement qui est supérieure à ce qui était précédemment possible. Une telle fixation de molécules à une surface d'électrode s'avère particulièrement intéressante dans le domaine de l'analyse génétique électrochimique.
