The invention concerns a method for making a tyre comprising a carcass reinforcement (1), radial in the sidewalls and radially oblique beneath the crown reinforcement (3), consisting of at least two plies (31 and 32) of reinforcing members (310 and 320) cross-layed from one ply to the next. The invention is characterised in that it consists in pre-shaping a diameter D¿1? and using a sleeve of at least a vulcanised shaping ply N consisting of reinforcing members forming with the circumferential direction an angle .alpha.¿1?, set on the build up drum T of diameter D, at least the central part of a carcass reinforcement ply (1) consisting of radial reinforcing members (10); setting on said central part with said oblique members (310) and forming with the circumferential direction an angle ∓.beta.¿1?, at least a crown ply (31, 32) consisting of reinforcing members (310, 320) oriented with respect to the circumferential direction with angles ±.gamma.¿1?(∓.gamma.¿1?), .gamma.¿1? being hardly different from .beta.¿1?, and in shaping it by bringing the internal diameter D¿1? of the cylindrical blank to the internal diameter D¿2? of the vulcanised tyre.
Procédé de fabrication en une phase d'un pneumatique comportant une armature de carcasse (1), radiale dans les flancs et oblique radialement sous une armature de sommet (3), composée d'au moins deux couches (31 et 32) d'éléments de renforcement (310 et 320) croisés d'une couche à la suivante, caractérisé en ce que l'on préconforme à un diamètre D1 et au moyen d'un manchon d'au moins une nappe conformatrice N vulcanisée et formée d'éléments de renforcement faisant avec la direction circonférentielle une angle .alpha.1, posée sur le tambour de confection T de diamètre D, au moins la partie centrale d'une nappe d'armature de carcasse (1) formée d'éléments de renforcement radiaux (10), en ce que l'on pose, sur ladite partie centrale avec des éléments (310) obliques et faisant avec la direction circonférentielle un angle ∓.beta.1, au moins une nappe de sommet (31, 32) formée d'éléments de renforcement (310, 320) orientés par rapport à la direction circonférentielle avec des angles ~.gamma.1 (∓.gamma.1), .gamma.1 étant peu différent de .beta.1, et en ce que l'on conforme en portant le diamètre intérieur D1 de l'ébauche cylindrique au diamètre intérieur D2, diamètre du pneumatique vulcanisé.
