A method of making an intraocular lens having an optic portion joined to a haptic portion by a flexible element which comprises the steps of: (e) forming a core of a material suitable for use as said optic portion; (f) reacting said core to provide a first composite of said optic portion and said flexible element bonded thereto; (g) reacting said flexible element with a material suitable for use as said haptic portion to provide a second composite; and (h) machining said second composite to form said intraocular lens.

Ce procédé de fabrication d'une lentille intraoculaire, comportant une portion optique assemblée à une portion haptique au moyen d'un élément souple, comprend les étapes suivantes consistant: (e) à former un noyau d'un matériau conçu pour être utilisé en tant que portion optique, (f) à faire réagir ce noyau de manière à obtenir un premier composite de cette portion optique, auquel est fixé l'élément souple, (g) à faire réagir l'élément souple avec un matériau conçu pour être utilisé en tant que portion haptique, de manière à former un second composite, et (h) à usiner ce second composite, afin de former la lentille intraoculaire.
