The invention concerns a method for making an oxirane by reacting an olefin with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst and an organic diluent, whereby the hydrogen peroxide is an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution obtained by extracting substantially pure water from the mixture derived for the oxidation of at least an alkylanthrahydroquinone, without subsequent washing and/or purifying treatment.

Procédé de fabrication d'un oxiranne par réaction entre une oléfine et du peroxyde d'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur et d'un diluant organique, selon lequel le peroxyde d'hydrogène est une solution aqueuse de peroxyde d'hydrogène obtenue par extraction avec de l'eau substantiellement pure du mélange issu de l'oxydation d'au moins une alkylanthrahydroquinone, sans traitement ultérieur de lavage et/ou de purification.
