This invention relates to a manufacturing process for making elastic bumps in the micro-electronic field. It solves the problem to mould micrometer sized elastic features by means of a micro-machined mould. The method is a reproducible moulding technology to achieve elastic bumps being a perfect replication of the mould. The mould is made of one or several grooves etched in a silicon wafer. The method includes the steps of: cleaning the surface of the mould (100) from dust and other particles; depositing a release agent on the mould and the release agent, e.g. Parylene or silane, forming a conformal self-assembled layer (118) on the surface of the mould; putting on a curable elastomer, to form an elastomeric structure (208) on the mould; curing the mould and the structure; and separating the structure from the mould.
L'invention concerne un procédé servant à fabriquer des protubérances élastiques dans le domaine de la micro-électronique. Ce procédé permet de résoudre le problème posé par le moulage de caractéristiques élastiques dimensionnées au micron au moyen d'un moule micro-usiné. Ce procédé consiste à appliquer une technique de moulage reproductible, ce qui permet d'obtenir des protubérances élastiques reproduisant parfaitement les caractéristiques du moule. Ce moule est constitué par une ou plusieurs gorges produites par attaque chimique d'une tranche de silicium. Ce procédé consiste à nettoyer la surface du moule (100) afin d'enlever la poussière ou d'autres particules; à déposer un agent de démoulage sur le moule et sur ledit agent, par exemple, Parylène ou silane, ce qui crée une couche conforme assemblée automatiquement (118) sur la surface du moule; à revêtir le moule d'un élastomère durcissant, afin d'obtenir une structure élastomère (208) sur le moule; à durcir le moule et la structure et à séparer cette structure du moule.
