The invention concerns a method for making linear monocarboxylic acid ethyl esters of 6 to 26 carbon atoms from acid or neutral, virgin or recycled vegetable or animal oils. The method is characterized in that it includes: a step (1) which consists in reacting said vegetable or animal oil, with methanol, in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst comprising a combination formed between at least one metal oxide and alumina or a combination formed between at least two oxides and optionally with alumina; and a step (2) which consists in reacting the product derived from step (1), with ethanol in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst such as the heterogeneous catalyst defined for use in step (1). Said method enables a mixture of fatty acid esters rich in fatty acid ethyl esters and a high purity glycerin to be obtained from vegetable or animal oils.
Un procédé de fabrication d'une composition d'esters comprenant des esters éthyliques d'acides monocarboxyliques linéaires de 6 à 26 atomes de carbone à partir d'une huiles végétale ou animale, neutre ou acide, vierge ou recyclée, ledit procédé étant caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend : une étape 1 de réaction de ladite huile végétale ou animale, avec du méthanol, en présence d'un catalyseur hétérogène comprenant une combinaison formée entre au moins un oxyde métallique et de l'alumine ou une combinaison formée entre au moins deux oxydes métalliques et éventuellement avec de l'alumine ; et une étape 2 de réaction du produit issu de l'étape 1, avec de l'éthanol en présence d'un catalyseur hétérogène défini de la même manière que le catalyseur hétérogène utilisé dans l'étape 1, permet d'obtenir à partir d'huiles végétales ou animales d'une façon économique un mélange d'esters d'acides gras riches en esters éthyliques d'acides gras et une glycérine de grande pureté.
