A method of forming flexible bags (10) having elastic-like behavior, wherein a sheet material (52) is introduced having one portion of the sheet material overlapping another portion of the sheet material. The sheet material (52) is formed into a strainable network. The strainable network includes a plurality of first regions (64) and a plurality of second regions (66). The first regions (64) are substantially un-deformed and the second regions (66) are formed into disengageable pleat elements (74). As the overlapped portions of the sheet material are formed they engage each other at the pleat elements. The pleat elements of each overlapped portion become engaged within each other and resist disengagement because of the frictional forces of the sheet material. The overlapped portions of the sheet material are separated using a disengaging means (130) so that the overlapped portions become disengaged and are separated from each other while riding on the disengaging means (130). The disengaging means is in the form of either air knife, static opening bar, dynamic opening bar, or suction means, and any combinations thereof.
L'invention concerne un procédé de formation de sacs flexibles à partir d'une bande continue. Ce procédé consiste à introduire une bande continue de matériau en feuille et à la soumettre à un processus de formation de sacs flexibles présentant un comportement de type élastique. La bande continue est transformée en une bande comprenant au moins deux parties visuellement distinctes. Un matériau en feuille est introduit, une partie dudit matériau chevauchant une autre partie. Ce matériau en feuille est transformé en un réseau étirable. Ce réseau étirable comprend une pluralité de premières parties et une pluralité de deuxièmes parties. Les premières parties sont sensiblement non déformées et les deuxièmes parties sont transformées en éléments plis séparables. A mesure que les parties chevauchantes du matériau en feuille sont formées, elles viennent en contact l'une avec l'autre au niveau des éléments plis. Les éléments plis de chaque partie chevauchante s'emboîtent les uns dans les autres et ne peuvent plus être séparés à cause des forces de frottement du matériau en feuille. Les parties chevauchantes du matériau en feuille sont séparées par un moyen de séparation au moment où elles passent sur ledit moyen de séparation. Ce dernier peut se présenter sous la forme d'une lame d'air, d'une barre d'ouverture statique, d'une barre d'ouverture dynamique, d'un moyen d'aspiration ou d'une combinaison de ces éléments.
