ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus is disclosed for the production of multiple layer tubes wound from metal strips, with an intermediate layer therebetween. The metal strips are pre-shaped to a generally circular-arcuate configuration while in heated state. A continuous synthetic resin layer is formed during the winding step between the inner and the outer strip layer. A further synthetic resin layer is applied to the interior wall of the tube during its formation. The resin layers are subjected to a first curing step during the formation. Then an exterior coating of a synthetic resin layer is applied and, finally, all resin layers are subjected to a final curing step. The invention makes it possible to produce the tubes in a single, continuous operation.
