METHOD FOR MAKING INSERT FOR REBUILDING VALVE GUIDES ABSTRACT The specification discloses a method for manufacturing an insert for lining and/or relining valve guides for reciprocat- ing-type poppet valves in cylinder heads of internal combustion engines. The method includes separately forming the inner and outer sleeves or tubes, and inserting one within the other for frictionally holding them together. The combined sleeves provide the insert with high wear resistance and lubricity and excellent heat transfer properties. Separate formation and later assembly allows precise control of wall thicknesses, diameters and con- centricities.
