The invention relates to a method of making multifunctional materials, especially materials comprising at least one primary carbamate group and a grafting moiety (cii). The method of the invention requires the successive or simultaneous reactions of a material P with a grafting material (c) and ammonia. Material P comprises two or more cyclic carbonate groups (bi). Grafting material (c) comprises at least one amine group (ci) and a grafting moiety (cii). The amine group (ci) is selected from primary amines, secondary amines, and mixtures thereof. The resulting multifunctional materials are useful in a variety of curable coating compositions, including solventborne, waterborne, electrodeposition, liquid solvent free coatings, powder, and powder slurry.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de matières multifonctionnelles, notamment, de matières contenant au moins un groupe carbamate primaire et un groupe caractéristique de greffage (cii). Dans ledit procédé, on a recourt à des réactions successives ou simultanées d'une matière P avec une matière de greffage (c) et de l'ammoniac. La matière P renferme au moins deux groupes de carbonate cycliques (bi). Ladite matière de greffage (c) comprend au moins groupe amine (ci) et un groupe caractéristique de greffage (cii). Ledit groupe amine (ci) est sélectionné parmi des amines primaires, des amines secondaires et des mélanges correspondants. Les matières multifonctionnelles résultantes sont utilisées dans une variété de compositions de revêtement durcissables, notamment, des revêtements exempts de solvant liquide obtenus par électrodéposition à base d'eau et de solvant, des poudres et de la pâte de poudre.
