ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE What is disclosed is a method for preparing improved optically readable information storage devices, such as discs, having high dimensional stability and dimensional precision, from a synthetic resin material such as optically transparent polymethyl methacrylate, in which discs the optically readable information is present on one or two intermediate layers parallel to the disc surfaces, by the joining of two sheets of synthetic resin, each about half the thickness of the disc, wherein the development of a moisture vapor gradient across the thickness and diameter of the component sheets during forming, storage, and subsequent processing is minimized, suitably by minimization of water absorption by the sheets.
